QIPP Programme and Right Care
The QIPP programme (Quality, Innovation, Productivity, Prevention) is central to the commissioning plans of every CCG and is about ensuring that each pound spent in the NHS is used to bring maximum benefit and quality of care to patients. Right Care is a QIPP workstream aimed at delivering the right care in the right place at the right time.
UK Vision Strategy guidance
An online eye care commissioning tool designed by a group led by the UK Vision Strategy Team is available at http://www.commissioningforeyecare.org.uk. This includes resources such as key data sources and policy documents essential for the commissioning process.
Professor Nick Bosanquet's report 'Liberating the NHS: Eye Care, Making a Reality of Equity and Excellence' clearly demonstrates the benefits of expanding community eye care services, and is another useful resource for LOCs to share with commissioners. View the report here.
