Optical Lead Vacancies
As a result of a restructure of LOCSU’s Commissioning Lead team, an opportunity has arisen for highly-skilled people to form a new team of seven Optical Leads to support LOCSU in its work with Local Optical Committees across England.
Your major focus will be to provide support to LOCs in harnessing relationships across a range of organisations, developing opportunities and supporting collaborative working across the 7 emerging NHS regions. You will be able to provide effective and timely support for LOCs regionally which, for example, may include aiding the development of business cases, negotiating with commissioners and building cross-organisational relationships. As an Optical Lead, you will have a proven track record of credible leadership in the optical or commissioning sectors, possess the ability to engage a range of stakeholders and develop productive and collaborative partnerships. You will be passionate about the potential for primary care-based eye services such as MECs and their potential to reshape the primary optical landscape. Also, you will need to be committed to the work of the LOCs and how they can help shape their local and regional landscapes.
All applicants will have first-rate communication and interpersonal skills, excellent writing and networking skills and the ability to multi-task and rapidly pull together high-quality reports. You will be comfortable working remotely as well as with the head office team based in London. You will need to be available for a minimum of 8 days per month.
The roles are based from home, but you will be required to travel to London for meetings when required. You will serve your region, attending meetings across it as required, which includes the commitment to work some evenings.
Hours are flexible within the scope outlined. A competitive daily rate, plus paid expenses, is offered in addition to the opportunity to work with some of the top influencers in the optical sector.
