PCSE say that PCSE online is showing signs of improvement and they’ve confirmed the date for a major system overhaul next month.

A spokesperson for PCSE said:

“We’re delighted to confirm that we have seen improvements in the performance of PCSE Online as a result of a series of system enhancements we made in July.

Feedback from users is they are no longer experiencing system latency in the late afternoons.

“It’s great to see the ophthalmic community benefiting from the changes we’ve made. We continue to monitor system performance closely to ensure it remains stable.”

PCSE say they expect to see a further improvement following the planned migration of their data centre, which is now scheduled to take place between 7pm on Saturday 11 September and 10am on Sunday 12 September. PCSE Online will be unavailable during these times.

Please refer to the Business Continuity Guidance for system downtime available here.

The optical bodies including LOCSU are in regular contact with PCSE over issues regarding this guidance but if issues have been raised to PCSE without success then LOCs should discuss with their optical lead.
