Facilitated Online Induction Programme
LOCSU hosts in-depth facilitated induction programmes each year. This includes the opportunity to participate in private, online group discussions with other new members, group webinars focused on specific LOC topics and activities designed to support delegates to become effective LOC members quickly.

The next induction course will launch on Monday 12 January 2026 following a pre-reading week.
Content will be released on this day, with delegates able to work through the resources and activities in their own time.
To register for this programme, delegates need to complete this form by 10am on Wednesday 31 December.
This course is offered to members of LOCs who are Levy-paying LOCs. Please ensure that you notify your chair before registering. If you are not yet a member of an LOC – please email info@locsu.co.uk for support.

To help LOCs operate appropriately, effectively and efficiently, LOCSU published a new model constitution for LOCs in April 2025. At this session, we will be joined be joined by LOCSU’s Business and Development Lead, Louise Robinson who will provide guidance on all matters regarding LOC governance as we transition to adopt a ‘new model constitution.’

11 February: The Induction Reunion – Post-Course Aftercare

‘The effective LOC Challenge’ round up of ‘what is a LOC’, its functions and governance, comms tips and quick wins with LOCSU’s Training and Development Lead, Simone Mason.
We anticipate that delegates will need to allocate 3 hours per week during the course to complete the reading and activities.
LOC Induction Online training module is a useful resource for all newly-elected committee members/officers and experienced members alike who wish to update themselves on the role and responsibilities of the LOC, the NHS landscape and who’s who of the national optical bodies at their own pace.
