LOCSU provides quality, practical support to LOCs in England to help them to develop, negotiate and implement their local objectives in respect of primary eye care services.

LOCSU provides support and advice to more than 80 Local Optical Committees to help them work with local Commissioners to develop enhanced local eye services.

LOCSU works with other eye care organisations and charities to promote the value of good quality enhanced local eye services, which reduce avoidable sight loss.

Local or Regional Optical Committees represent local optometrists and opticians and work with health commissioners to influence policies and decisions affecting the planning of healthcare services.
